Anyone else a fan of cycling? I love July because it means I get to watch some cycling on TV. I wish they showed more cycling here in the states, at least they do a good job of covering the tour here.

So far I am really happy with the results. After three stages my two favorite riders have won all three. Was so happy to finally see Mark win stage one and get his yellow jersey, followed by Sagan getting the yellow jersey after stage two. With a second win on stage three, it looks like Mark's Olympic preparations are really paying off.

Can't wait to watch tomorrows stage

Just got into cycling last year so I'm slowly learning names and teams. Watched the first two stages. Stage two's finish was entertaining. Missed stage three because I was out cycling myself this morning. Hopefully I can stream stage four from work.

Haven't watched in a few years because the doping scandals got too depressing. I need to get out riding more; my bike is awesome (better bike than I am a rider) and my cardio needs a boost.

In 1990 I followed the Tour de France by backpack from the TT in Epinal (won by Raul Alcala) to Greg Lemond's TT victory at Lac de Vassivierre and his victory lap in Paris. I also saw the race in the Alps, got my first glimpse of L'Alpe D'Huez (too much traffic, did not get to see the stage), and saw Miguel Indurain storm to victory in the Pyrenees. There weren't many American fans, but I did find a bunch and hung out with them.

In 2004 I followed the Tour via motorcycle, catching the race in the Alps. I finally made it to L'Alpe D'huez to watch Lance Armstrong crush the competition in the individual time trial.

We now know, of course, how much of a farce that was...

  6. Next Thursday, the Tour will pass through "my" region (i.e. where we spend our summer holidays). Will be watching it in Villefranche-de-Rouergue. In fact, it's all my wife's idea: she is more into cycling than I am.

And now the Pyrenees, where the real fun begins!

My girlfriend is big into watching cycling, so when were living in Paris, we did go chasing some stages, sometimes successfully, often not….However in 2009, we wre lucky to get a pass to a VIP area at the foot of the Champs d’Elysee for the final stage.

These were shot with my E-510 and 50-200

I find the US network coverage simply annoying. I watch the European races on a Eurosport stream. Cavendish seems to be going well this year for sure.
