Mine has turned out to be a bad copy and I've asked to be re-imbursed as I'm worried that I might get another bad copy if it's from the same batch. I shot at f8 and 5.6 on infinity and tried manual as well but all were soft across the whole frame. Perhaps I expect too much but at the price for a manual focus, I expect better and the text on the 100% crop to be sharper than that. Raw to jpg with no added processing

I liked its size, but found that it wasn't as sharp as my Samyang/Rokinon fish eye and I just couldn't justify the cost of the Laowa in that case. Nonetheless, had fun taking it out for sunrise today before returning it tomorrow.

I initially developed this one with DXO, focusing on correcting the barrell distortion and the heavy vignetting of this lens, but wasn't completely happy with the colors. So I gave my Luminar 3 a chance, and for the first time I was able to pull out something I like from that sw.

Mine arrived the other day. So had it out for a test.
This is with a Variable ND filter
I have decided to set mine ups with a 46-62mm step up ring and a UV filter with a 62mm pinch cap and have put the hood and original pinch cap back in the box.
This size is for my Variable ND filter and also as my walk around as it does not vignette.
I have also purchased a 46-72mm step up ring as this is the largest size of my lenses and I will use ND1000 etc in this size so they work on all my lenses

This is an absolutely huge crop of the original picture. Have you done this same test with your 12-40mm. I tried it with my 12-100mm and the result is the same as yours.

Not the same subject but the 12-40 outshines. Even the edge of frame on the 12-40 was better than centre frame on the laowa. Originals at full res followed by 100% crops

Do love foreground images when using a wide angle lens. For me this is when they really shine.

Another shot at astrophotography with this lovely little lens. This is taken with my EM5 mark III if I recall it was f2 and 30 second exposure

Have finally joined the crew after wanting this lens for a long time... A couple first test shots.
