Just returned from a 2 week break in the Lake District.
A great time was had by all.
Tried to visit different locations from last year's trip.
I've just about forgiven my hyper Springer for running at full pelt into my rucksack dislodging my 14-42 kit lens which ended in the river, now ruined - Grrr!!

    guess?
    :(
That's the beauty of the kit lenses. Cheap enough to carry and not break the bank if the worst happens. And IQ is pretty decent too.

Very nice shots Mike, we are off to the Lakes in August for a week. It's a while since I was there and I'm hoping for some decent weather. (it always rains when I go)

    So true
I wasn't too fussed about losing the 14-42 lens to be honest.
I only use m4/3 as a walkabout system - and a great system it is too.
Now, had it been one of my Sony Zeiss lenses, the story may have had a different outome
I'll probably replace the kit lens eventually, possibly with a used Oly 12-50 as it is still smallish and light with a nice focal range.

Our first week was scorching but the second was more unsettled.
We just chose our walks according to the weather forecast.
Even when the clouds were dark and heavy, Lakeland is still an amazing place.
This is the 3rd year running that we've travelled to the Lakes from Aberdeen.
First year we stayed in Great Langdale but the last couple of years we've based ourselves in Braithwaite which we find is a great base for touring.
It takes roughly the same time to travel to Skye from here as it does to Lakeland.

I'm sure you'll enjoy it there.
Just remember that theres no such thing as bad weather - just inappropriate clothing

    Cheers Geoff
Many a true word as they say.
Compared to the Labs around here, my wee Bracken is way ahead in terms of obedience etc.
If only he'd slow down a bit :D
My last dog was a Working Cocker and she was so easy to train but he gets off with murder - one spoilt pooch but I wouldn't have him any other way.
