Just a little test of my new lens. I find the background a bit distracting (although that could be the subject matter) but it is darned sharp. As I recall these were shot at around 5.6. Aside from the obvious, its a really nice lens to use. It feels much better made than my other Hexanons and it is incredibly smooth focusing. This is the earlier version with a maximum aperture of F16 and half stops on the aperture ring. Next I'm going to see what it's like wide open. I think like it better than the 57/1.4 I had (and I liked that lens) although as I recall that one had better bokeh.

A couple of 100% crops of the flower petals and the leaves.

The bokeh might be slightly distracting but very artistic. Beautiful shot. I can't wait to try some of my Konica lenses.

Thanks...I think what I'm seeing is the massive tangle of branches behind it more than a particularly swirly bokeh. It does look cool though.
