I had one when I was trying out lots of legacy 50s - it's a great lens, especially at the (current) price of around $10. The 50/1.8 is smaller and a little lighter than the previous 50/1.7 and you'd be hard-pressed to find much of a difference in terms of image quality. It's not quite as small as the 40/1.8 pancake but it's close.

I've had this lens for a while now and still enjoy using it. The adapter adds about 2cm to the lens, but it feels very balanced on my E-P1. Initially I thought the images were slightly dull in color compared with the Oly/Pany offerings, but after using it more I am appreciating its character (and for me, it's just plain refreshing and fun to use the manual aperture and focus). If you can get a good deal on it, I would recommend it.

Here are some of the images I've taken with it:

This site has all things Hexanon and the 50 1.8 gets a pretty good review there...

I have the 50 1.7 which I'm looking forward to comparing with the Nikon 50 once my m43 adapter arrives. I also have the 40 1.8 which I modded to fit my Oly E-620. Takes lovely photos.

Thanks for sharing the wonderful photos. I'd sure prefer being there than Indiana.
