I have been mulling over what to purchase for a quick release plate to use with my GF1 and photoclam ballhead (which uses the universal dovetail design).

The photoclam plate was too large, so ordering another for the camera wasnt an option. I decided to order a small plate from a hong kong seller...only to find out it wasnt in stock (it is still in process and I can put it to use anyway). I had seen the Kirk and RRS L plates for the GF1, but that is alittle spendy for me (and the GF1 doesnt exactly beg for an L plate since you dont need to step to the viewfinder...so tilting the head into the 90 vertical slot on a ballhead isnt a big deal anyway).

I was looking again this week due to the delay with the cheap ebay thread, and stumbled upon the Kirk photo universal point and shoot plate. (pz-130). It has 3 slots for the threaded screw (but the battery compartment works fine opening with the screw in the middle slot). It is compact, and has an anti-twist lip, so for $30 it looked ideal. Long story short, it is! Anyone looking for a good, small dovetail release plate for their GF1 need not look further. Here are some pics:

Oris, I have had the photoclam since this past summer, it is a very nice head to work with! Light years ahead of the Amvona knock off greased ball and clamp (erm ballhead) I had before. This plate is perfect for the GF1 as well; I bought it from Kirk on ebay, shipping included and got bing cashback as well for a $27 total, excellent price in my book.
