Discussion in 'Contests and Challenges' started by Luckypenguin, Jul 1, 2011.

  1. The second Nik Software Photo Contest has been run and won by Janine4d! Janine4d's beautiful image of flowers in front of a windmill polled the most number of votes in another close contest. Once again the competition was tough with some fantastic Micro 4/3 images being submitted under the theme of "nature", all of which can be viewed here.

    Congratulations Janine4d! For your prize you get to choose from one of the fantastic Nik Software plugins.

    Janine4d's winning entry, shot with a GF1 + 14/2.5, is shown below;

    Congratulations, Janine! It's such a wonderful image that as soon as I saw it I thought it would be the winner. I'm not at all surprised it was Explored on Flickr! I hope your new software helps you improve your photos still further, and that you put many more on this site for us to enjoy.

    As an aside, thank you to those who voted for my effort- in such company, and with my photo's exposure problems, I was gobsmacked to see myself amongst the front-runners, and twice had to drag the cursor across the screen to check that those votes really were against my username! I'm honoured to have received so many votes.

    Wow, thanks for all the votes and comments! :smile: I was almost too scared to look at the votes since it was so extremely close!

    I think I'll enjoy the software indeed. I find it hard to choose between silver efex and color efex, they're both great. Going to choose color efex though, after having played with the trial a bit I don't think I'd want to be without again, it really is very good. I'll make good use of it. :wink:

    Thanks again and thanks for organising these contests, they're fun and full of great images.

    Wow, that is a beautiful photo!

  13. Good choice. Silver Efex seems to have achieved near-cult status, but Color Efex is also a great piece of software. I particularly love the colour film presets. Whichever way you go I hope you enjoy your prize!
