I have been visiting the Monterey Bay Aquarium regularly for the last dozen or so years (it is a huge favorite with my kids) and am always trying better my images each time I go. The jellies form a rather easy subject because they move slowly and the worst that can happen is that one gets photobombed. The lighting and white balance are the big challenges in getting good images.

These are from our pre-back-to-school trip last weekend. All images are with my E-M10 + O25/1.8 @ f/1.8.

    1. Egg Yolk Jelly (ISO 400)
    Egg Yolk Jelly 2.

    2. Stinging Nettles (ISO 640)

    3. Moon Jelly (ISO 400)
    Moon Jelly 1.

    4. Purple Striped Jelly (ISO 400)

    5. And my personal imaging challenge: the Comb Jelly (ISO 1250). All the small dots are baby brine shrimp and small crustaceans which the Jelly eats.

Very nice. Istm that Monterey's jellyfish tanks are rather unique. I enjoyed them when I was there almost a decade ago.

    Thanks!

Yes. They are among the best that I have seen. Though the New England aquarium had(has?) a cylindrical tank full of Moon Jellies which was really spectacular.
