Each week a group of JDM (Japanese Domestic Market) car enthusiasts meet and show off their latest modifications to these once stock cars.
This was the first time I was able to attend and snapped a few shots.
Forgot my flash so they are all shot handheld in available light (what little there was at 9:30pm) and some show it
The basic shot was made using the dramatic tone filter then a some PP in Photoshop.

Cool project! Looks like they could have been scenes from Grand Theft Auto San Andreas! The processing suits the subject

It looks over processed for my tastes. First times are always awkward

Here's my AE86 shot with an E-P2, Fujinon TV CF25B 25mm f/1.4

For cars I find the Fujinon lens + Olympus body to make some pretty awesome color naturally. In this specific instance the street light was just too yellow, though. I did some white balance correction in post. I'm color blind enough to have quite a lot of trouble fixing things in post, so this is as good as this one is going to be in my hands.

The theme and subject is vibrant and extraordinary, I think a vibrant and extraordinary treatment suits it well. With some extra lighting for drama and a little less processing I'm sure this meet up would produce some stunning shots.
