Because it is coming out on the 26th not the 25th!
You have to wait another day.

I'll wait to the rest of you risk your cameras to a brand new update first. Then if all goes well I'll upgrade mine in a couple weeks or whenever I get around to it.
    ;)

Just got off the phone with US Support. They did not know the firmware was not yet pushed out of Japan. I told the support person that the published date on their site was the 25th and their entire user community expected to get the E-M1 and E-M5II updates today as advertised. I told him this was a major customer relationship issue. He will raise this to his supervisor. Sounds like Marketing, or whoever says what to put on their home page, is out of synch with the development org who publishes the firmware. Not a good sign at all. Naturally the support guy did not know the real availability date.

Really? A free update to older model cameras to continue to improve them and because it wasn't available to the 1% of the customers who even know about it the second the clock ticked midnight, customers are all going to dump their Oly gear and head over to Sony, Fuji, etc.?

    Hyperbole much do ya?

Per Olympus, EM1 is still "flagship OMD model". EM5 Mk II is current model (expecting firmware 2.0), obviously.

It is Olympus that has made much to do over the new firmware updates, promised them for today and labeled the new units available for sale on their website with red labels indicating they would ship with the new firmware. If there is hyperbole over the new firmware releases, it started at Olympus. I simply asked why they have not followed through with the release of these high profile firmware sets.

Until 12:00 am Nov 26th hits Hawaii with no download, they haven't failed on their promise. Remember that I.T. guys and web developers need sleep, too.

Too many places to go, people to see, photo's to take, women to dance with and beers to drink than to stay up late waiting for some upgrade.
