  3. AHHH! I love to eat a durian, it's smell is another question.

Apperantly monkey's cry over it. The reason people think, they have difficulty to get into it to eat it.

Ah, the mighty durian - they say it tastes like heaven, smells like hell.

I tried it, and found only the second part of that statement to be true. (The smell actually stuck to my clothes longer than my patience.)

But, I know people who will will want to be buried with that fruit. So, no offense meant, just my opinion.

Those photos bring back good memories. I'll have to make a trip back to the old homeland next year (not Malaysia but Singapore).

The fragrance of durians is acquired; I love the smell and love the taste of the heavenly fruit. I'll have to make a trip to Malyasia for some!

I was repulsed as a child, but realized any fruit that smells that bad and is that well protected, must taste great. Acquired the taste later in life....and its definitely amazing.

My uncle (by marriage), a Brit, loves the texture and taste of durians but he can't stand the smell of it.

If i remember correctly that South Indian Eatery is nirwana? If it is they have an amazing deep fried bitter gourd!

And durians... they taste AND smell like heaven to me :) ahhaha
i like to think of it as the bluecheese equivalent of fruits :p

Good analogy with the bluecheese, though many of us can tolerate it depending on the sharpness.

I've only met two types of people: Those who love durian and those apalled by it.
