I'm also willing to push ISO when necessary (but not over 3200, I guess). As far as Auto ISO, I also never use it, although I DO think it is good to use if you shoot Shutter priority to guard against under-exposure when you inevitably reach your lens max aperture. (I usually shoot Aperture priority or sometimes manual; seldom shutter priority, except for very special cases).
