    1 hour from Sydney Australia.
Got my free HLD-7 grip from Olympus today. I like free stuff but I'm not sure if it's not faulty, out of the box. The shutter feels completely different to the one on the camera. The throw is really long and I actually need to press quite hard to get the shutter to fire. I have actually got the shutter button fully depressed without firing and then a very slight wiggle trips it. It worries me because it seems like it will introduce camera movement due to the effort I need to use. The other thing is that the AF is at the very top of the action and the shutter is at the bottom. It's actually very possible to shoot a dozen frames without the AF changing.

I can't get to Olympus before friday so I'll see how it goes tomorrow. Anyone else with the E-M1 grip think the shutter feels "weird"?

Sounds like your hold-7 shutter release is faulty mine is identical to the body one. However the being able to take multiple photos without af engaging sounds normal and is how my e-m1 works.
