has anyone been able to get this thing to connect?
I have to do a manual connect, but it seems to work. It is not seamless to say the least.
I'm in the same boat. I can connect to my Android tablet but not my iphone.
I remember it was hard to get the Oly E-P5 setup on the iphone first as well.
For the time being I am just using my tablet.
On my GX80 and iPhone 6 it's working without hassle. I just have to disconnect from my home wi-fi, turn on GX80 wi-fi and choose my saved iPhone connection and lastly open the panasonic image app.
The first time I used manual connection, though.
What is a manual connection ?
I don't remember the process entirely, but it wasn't effortless the first time I connected the two. I can look into how I did it when I get home.
finally got it but could never do it via reading the QR codes
now trying to geotag pics but that doesn't work either
When I tried resetting and doing it again it was completely hassle free:
Camera - Wi-Fi on -> New connection -> Send images stored in the camera -> Smartphone -> Direct -> Manual Connection
Phone - Connect to the network displayed in the camera
Camera tells me to launch Image App
Phone - Launch Image app, everything works
did you add geotags to images stored in the camera already?
or does that procedure transfer jpgs to the smartphone (which I do NOT want)?
I haven't tried that, but here's a movie that explains the process on the GH3:
I was able to connect my iphone 6s via QR code without issue on first try.
once you got a blue square and moved the phone to set the QR code inside the blue square, what did you do then??
I connected with an iPhone 5s and an iPad straight away without any issues...
I will have to try again on the iphone. I have just been using the Android tablet as it works all the time
