Invoking focus assist directly from an adapter?

Know what would be cool? If an enterprising adapter maker could figure out a way to simulate the signals sent by the focus ring of a native m43 lens. With a button on the outside of the adapter you could adjust a manual focus lens and activate the focus-assist magnification with the same hand. I'd like that.
