I thought it might be a nice idea to have a thread where we could share a little about particular photos or photographers that you regard as inspirational, for whatever reason. Old, new, famous, unknown, whatever. Just say a little bit about what it means to you.

For me "The Kiss of Liberation" by Tony Vaccaro is one of the most moving photos I have ever seen. I can't view it dispassionately - every time I look at it I get a little teary eyed. The joy of the girls in the background, the innocence of the little girl kneeling on a handkerchief, the tenderness of the soldier and the sense that the horror of what has gone before may now, for at least this moment, be set aside. Profoundly moving.

    Shameless :bump:

Another one, Anton Corbijn's portrait of Captain Beefheart. One of my favourite portraits ever.
