Selling
Industar 69 28mm f/2.8 pancake lens! ADAPTER HAS BEEN SOLD.

Description
This Industar 69 is a great little pancake lens. It's 28mm, so on m4/3 it is equivalent to a 56mm, a pretty normal FOV. It's a speedy f/2.8. The lens WITH an adapter is almost the exact same size as the Panasonic 14mm. It comes with front cap and back cap. ADAPTER HAS BEEN SOLD.

This lens is a lot of fun to just mount and go. One way to use it is to set it at f/8 and forget it. Leave the focus near infinity, and you just point and shoot. Shooting this way frees/forces you to focus on the content of your image, not the technical details... or as Cartier-Bresson put it, "Sharpness is a bourgeois concept."

Or if you'd like to open it wide and focus, the focus ring is surprisingly smooth and easy to use. f/2.8 gives you a decent amount of background blur to work with.

I have attached a couple example photos. One is close to full-frame, the other (of the buildings) is a center crop of infinity to give you some idea of sharpness and to demonstrate that it does focus to infinity.

The aperture ring is on the front. The focus ring has cute little pictograms signifying focal distance: single portrait, group portrait, building, infinity.

It's Russian, comes from a "Seagull" half-frame camera. The lens covers the whole sensor fine. It has an M39, "Leica Thread Mount", or "Leica Screw Mount". The lens came built-in with this mount, but the distance to the film plane was different in the Seagull camera than a Leica. This means the lens had to be modified internally so that focus could be set at infinity. It was an easy operation involving a screwdriver and a file.

ADAPTER HAS BEEN SOLD. ADAPTER HAS BEEN SOLD. ADAPTER HAS BEEN SOLD.

In short, if you like the idea of a pancake normal lens but can't shell out for a P20, or if you'd just like a really unique, fun optic for m4/3, try it out!

    Thanks for looking!

There are a lot of rumors going around about the Computar 28mm f2.8 M42 for $12. Don't be fooled! Sharp optics and brand-new condition in no way confer the same hipster status as a genuine 1970's Russian lens.
