Go to Panasonic's Facebook page and complain about it:

Panasonic probably pays little attention to sites like this, but they definitely monitor Facebook.

You can, but you won't have a US warranty.

Actually Panasonic does watch MU43. Also I give them feedback I what I read here and other sites. I've been asking for a black model release in the states ASAP. This is a good thread to keep growing. When it gets big enough I'll send it over to the right person.

The other thing I was thinking of doing a survey on Small Camera Big Picture but I'm not sure how to embed one. If anyone can give me some tips I'd love to get a survey going and send that to them as well.

I'm also waiting for the black body or getting one from Canada. If they won't offer it here they should at least give us a warranty if we get one from Canada. I also want the kit with the 20mm or a kit with the new 14-140 would be nice.

Panasonic definitely needs to release it in black in the US. I'm not fond at all of the two tone look. I think most PJs and street snappers would agree.

I'm waiting on a black with 20mm kit from Canada, it sure would be nice to cancel that order before it ships and buy from a USA retailer!

I can't say it's a deal breaker, but I would prefer a black body over the silver one.

... other good point--having the 20/1.7 kit option would be great as well. Not sure who they think they're marketing to, offering only the retro look, but with the slow zoom kit lens. Anyone who did shoot with an oldtimey silver and black camera probably did so with a 50mm fast prime. :)

I would agree that not offering 20mm kits out of the chute is a much bigger deal than not offering the camera in black.

    +1 on the black version
    +1 on the 20mm kit!

I've got five black Panny lenses for my black GX-1. Damned if I'm not gonna buy a black GX-7.

If I go back to m4/3, this would definitely be the combo that I'll buy.

Well, if you're going to report back to Panasonic tell them cheaping out on the cost of a lens & body cap is unacceptable! I mean, really, it's an $1100 body and lens kit, and they cant give us 50 cents worth of plastic caps?

That's even worse than Oly's refusal to include lens hoods, which probably cost a whole buck.
