The flash and lenses of a speed camera
No. Chronograph was already really close but this is not a (partially) mechanical timepiece.

Quite common gadget nowadays but the feature in picture which requires use of red and ir led at the same time is still quite rare in these. It has the second, more common function as well but that uses third colour.

Used in motion detection systems?
The device itself does have a very sophisticated motion detection system which is essential for some features. This image is however not part of that but serves another purpose entirely.

Motion detection is usually active together with the part in picture.

Hint: Mountain Man was almost spot on. What you see in the picture are two three-colour (IR, red and green) LEDs and two light sensors but what are they used for and what is the name of this device?

I will accept two different names since both have same components on this side.

For crying out loud. It can't be this difficult because several forum members are carrying this device (not the same model) on their person this very moment.

Finally!

Heart rate monitor uses green LED but SpO2 requires IR and Red. All three colours are integrated in the same component and this model has two pairs of LED:s and light sensors.

Up to you!

Embossing that will create 3D effect on the other side where an image is printed?

Oh well, essentially the same what RichardC just said

It looks like a reversed image of racing car/dragster.
I’m giving it to RichardC, it’s a biscuit tin lid with cars embossed into it. People from Australia will be very familiar with the classic Holdens.
