Do I say more?
I think Zapp DJR deserves the medal
It's an old Gunters surveying chain.
It's 66 feet long
They also come in links, 100 links = 1 chain, hence a "Chain"
We graduated to steel bands in similar lengths but went out to 600 feet. 1/16" thick they were very easily broken.

Your turn Darek

Oups...
Now I see that avoiding the name of the inventor did not help.
Punishment for being smartass.

I'm not ready with the next one, at least until tomorrow.
Anybody?

Sorry, I've been away from the house. Photo related (The object, not the trip away from the house... well, both, come to think of it)

The forum is messing with me; I missed the last two questions.

1- Nothing chargeable on this item
2- Probably predates commonly available mobile phones by 25 years or more.
