Identify the Mystery Object.

So for the mystery object it appears to be a 2part object
Pot holder
Than also question is it a rubber or plastic substance

There are multiple parts to the entire object, but the immediate portion we’re looking at is of two pieces...
Part of it is a hard plastic, the other part is perhaps aluminum.
Not a pot holder, although I suppose I could get it to hold a pot for me if I really wanted to.

The original image was part of the adjustment/boom holder.

Used in my office in conjunction with another for on camera video chat lighting so I don’t look like I’m in witness protection, as I’m heavily backlit by a window.

I think the object is a bit generic.
It looks like the plastic piece goes flush with something and you have to put your fingers in there to turn it.
As the threads stops before the end of the screw, I assume it's used as a stop of some kind.

Maybe from an office chair.
