It looks like the baffle stack found inside of a suppressor (silencer).
Yes, it's the internal part of the suppressor / moderator / silencer.
Baffles creates the chambers for the expansion of gases, uneven sizes and shapes makes them more effective.
There could be many designs and sizes, depending on the purpose.

Yes, it’s a bolt and some cord. It’s the bottom end of the mystery object. It very roughly falls into the same category of things as the last mystery item did. What is the whole item?
