Not photo related.
And no butt reference this time.
Edit: it's not even butt part of the "object".

Time for a hint.

To my knowlegde the design which you see is related to only one type of the "object", although not every "object" as such must have exactly the same design (but those other designs in use serves the same function).
Acc. to the available sources, this particular design was invented in 1998, and even patented, but the patent expired like in 2018. Now it's "cloned" by at least one Chinese manufacturer.
Helpful, isn't it?

What is the "object"?

Way to go Bo! 🙂

I thought that if someone has seen one before, it would not be difficult.
To complete the story: this particular mechanism is known as the AXIS lock, and was patented by Benchmade. More info for example here:

Over to you.
Is this really a Switchblade?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Switchblade
Is it spring loaded?

I am just trying to get out of having to provide the next picture! o_O

I guess I have to accept the win!
I don't have anything prepared so it would be tomorrow before I can provide one.
But if someone has a picture they want to use, please proceed.

You are right, it's not a spring loaded type, I think the correct name should be a folding knife.
But it's a locking mechanism of a knife with the blade in the handle. I was afraid that saying "no" would just make more confusion than help.

Switchblade or foldingblade is very similar so why not let it stand.
Well I still don't have anything to use yet, so still open for grabs!
