Clothespin / clasp / clip.
Not sure the exact name you are using.
It's a metal clothes peg - well done Darek.

Hint from Brian was a great help, as I had no idea what could be related to Mondays in UK.
Then, color plastic and wood, with use of wind and sun - all clicked.

I will post something in the morning CET - within 12 hours.

They are the least common type. K-pegs is the brand. Been outside on my washing line for 8 years and still look brand new apart from odd the patch of moss.

Most buy plastic or wood. The wooden ones rot and break, the plastic ones lose their BPA in the sun and become brittle as a result.

Must buy some more - they tend to get stolen for photography purposes.

I should really have said 'every household will have plenty of this kind of thing' - apologies, you make a good point.

Question: Is UK customs going to let an American in armed with a can of whoopass?

Okay. Apologies to our British tormentor...er...brother. So, nothing to see here. Carry on.

We call it here a step drill, but I believe it's the same thing.
