This was my second time there, but first time in winter and first time with a vehicle (last time I hiked across the island in June).

Awesome pictures and editing! Love the 16:9 format for landscapes, gotta try that and get a good picture to print and hang on the wall.

I've seen other good ones in your Flickr account, any chance you will post few more here with some description to make for a virtual visit to Iceland in winter for those - like me - who are stuck in southern lands?

Really nice set of images - I love these muted tones and the eerie, otherworldly mood. So often we see Iceland landscapes that are completely over-cooked with a tutone palette or look like they were superimposed with a neon sign. These manage to retain a nice tonal range while still feeling monochromatic - looks absolutely fantastic.

I like the straightforward compositions. While Iceland has a lot of gloriously impressive landscape (I've been 4 times), a lot of it is empty space and you captured the vastness of the Icelandic landscape pretty well

Thank you both. I agree Iceland has a certain #wanderlust look that has been done to death by a million IG influencers and travel bloggers.

One of the nice things about going in winter was seeing it in a different light (literally). Even though we only had about 4-5 hours of daylight (less of sunlight) a day, the soft tonal palette was stunning.

Could be! I did post a lot on the Bushwalk forums, but I know there's at least two other 'Nicks' that post there and are very capable photographers (and have been to Iceland).

I'm working in Tas at the moment.
