Can someone explain if IBS is really that effective if there are focal length settings in the camera menu yet the format is littered with zoom lenses. I understand setting 14mm in the camera, but if you zoom to 140mm is there a software adjustment to the setting to cover the longer focal length? If you forget to readjust the IBS setting to match the lens is the IBS a joke?
I have an E-P2 and think it is a swell tool but have wondered about this issue.

the FL setting for IBIS only applies to non-native lenses -- so, manual "legacy" lenses for instance.
Otherwise IBIS takes care of itself.
