by way of introduction, i shot an ep2 for several years, until i traded it in 2 years ago for an x100 and gxr m mount. the gx7 reignited my m4/3 GAS, and i did NEED an autofocus portrait rig to complement my x100, soooo....

i just bought an epl5 (white), and a black oly 45/1.8 (from a forum member) and needed to try them out. what better event than ZombieFest, held over the weekend in a nearby town. here are some samples, comments always welcome:

    thanks guys.

steven, the lens is outstanding. super sharp, very good color. i did not expect this level of detail and throughout-the-frame clarity from m4/3. im enjoying it immensely, thank you for the easy fast transaction.

as for the epl5, first, the white cam with black lens, black evf and black grip (yeah, i pimped it), is really good looking. the images are very very good, and the AF is fast enough. using the touch screen for 'focus, fire' is great for street work. saying all that, i cant say its 'fun' to shoot. changing aperture, ss, exposure comp, just a pain in the you know what. not the cameras fault, but i so much more enjoy the analogue controls of my x100 (& gxr w mf lenses). and the shutter, my gosh, its the loudest ive ever heard.

i'll be keeping it awhile because i want an AF portrait rig and the quality of results rivals my apsc x100, so i'll live with the annoyances. and oh yeah, did i mention it IS hot looking! ):

That's good to hear. it is really a remarkable lens specially for the price.

Yes in good light that sensor on the E-PL5 will produce some pretty crisp and detailed photos. I can understand your feelings about the controls specially if you came from a dslr.

    Keep em coming :D

Try the E-M5: Aperture, and shutter, and ev comp are all done directly with the two top dials -- one with the index finger, one with the thumb. It's heaven!
