So... If any of you have been reading my posts over the last week or so, you will know that due to an unfortunate family crisis, I almost had to sell all of my gear to help with a big financial need.

Things looked up for a minute and I thought I wouldn't have to sell anything. However, while my direct close family is okay, not everyone came out on top and I felt like helping.

So over the last week or so I have secretly and slowly sold my 25/1.4 and eventually (today) my 75/1.8.

Another topic you may have noticed in my posts, is a dear dear friend asking for recommendation on lenses and what to buy and what not.

Turns out my wife told him I was selling my lenses to help and was hoping to eventually rebuild my kit (I was left with my OM-D and a CCTV MF lens) and he was asking me all these questions because they were "plotting".

I've always been there for this friend and I suppose today he was there for me because I came home to THIS!!!!!!

A brand new Black Oly 45/1.8 and a brand new Pany 12-35/2.8:

Quick and blurry phone picture — shaking with excitement!

So I'm writing this post to say thank you to all the people that go out of their way to make other happy.

I sure am a happy camper! I was just telling him yesterday after posting this thread (https://www.mu-43.com/f38/friend-s-ask-recommendation-stumped-me-48514/) that a 12-35 and 75 (or 45 since its MUCH cheaper) would be the dream combo for my uses.

Edit: Sorry this post turned out to be much bigger than I expected :p
    I am just so happy!!

Wow! I didn't know of your near crisis, but I'm glad to hear it's been mostly averted. It's wonderful that your friend could be there for you to help keep your hobby going. Life is tough, but it's stories like these that warm my heart. Take care and enjoy!

Thanks for the kind words. I suppose the universe does have its ways :)

    Will absolutely do!!

All is well now, after selling the 75mm/1.8 this afternoon (https://www.mu-43.com/f17/olympus-m...m-f1-8-location-canada-ships-canada-us-48567/) we were able to close this chapter and "live happily ever after" :p or at least for now!

I agree -- shoot and show!

I'm quite take with the 12-35mm lens. Wish I'd had it for the balloon festival video I'm doing -- but I overcame it.

I loaned it to a friend and made that commitment before I got the all-access passes to the festival. I will not be loaning it out AGAIN.

Thanks everyone for all the kind words!

Excited to go shooting tomorrow, I set up a shoot for this local band, their lead guitar and I are going to go find an old grungy alley tomorrow and do a black and white shoot of him with his guitar and an amp.
