I don't need the PL8–18, do I?

As a lover of UWA lenses, I've wrestled with this question many times. I've handled and tested more 7-14s than I care to recall...but never bought one.

I had a 9-18 for six years because it's astonishingly small and delivers very good results! When that died (they have an internal ribbon that likes to partially disengage and your lens becomes a 9-13), I sold the half-dead lens to a guy (he slapped it on the drone and used it as a 9mm prime), and was faced with the dilemma again.

I chose the 8-18 because it's a full stop faster at the wide end, I find the 15-18mm range very useful, and I can use filters.

I also believe that the 8-18 is the sharpest of these three lenses, which didn't hurt!
