Humming Birds

[Nam-in-Sonoma]

With Shelter In Place, I spent more time in the backyard and see more and more little birds there. Here are a few humming birds I took with the E-M1 X and E-M1 Mark III, all taken with the Olympus 300mm F3 IS Pro and sometimes with the MC-14 to add someone reach. All natural light.

I know how much work is involved - I’ve made a few unsuccessful attempts before. But hope to work at it again this summer

I set up a feeder then just wait for them to come.
I shot in Pro Capture L at 1/2000s to 1/3200s with Auto ISO
Just observe their behavior..usually they go in the take a drink come back out, then go back in...so I just wait for them to pull out that the picture before they go back in.
I am lucky to have a few of them in my backyard so I can just sit and wait for them to come.
