How do you set profiles for different lens lengths? Do you have to do this manually each time you throw on a new lens?

For legacy and MF lenses ... yes. Natives capable of AF get set by the camera as needed. Might be some extra steps when using Panasonic lenses on Olympus bodies if the lens already has IS.

Yep, unfortunately there are no lens profiles. The only lens-specific setting is the focal length, the camera has no way of distinguishing between lenses when using a passive adapter so it has to be set by hand. When using lenses with electronic contacts, the camera knows all it needs to know. Needless to say, there is no smart way to control this with legacy zoom lenses.
