I know I should read the manual better but...............How do I alter the focus box size on my GF1. I like to have the smallest possible.

    Read manual, now resolved. :)

Super! you WILL need the small focus box - I found the standard size box would tend to focus on the background, rather than the subject in the centre of the frame, very frustrating.....
The AF tracking looks good and seems to work ok, useful for kids/animals etc
Face detection seems to work well.

Still prefer the single small focus box myself though.....
  3. One option: From menu select Direct AF Area. Set to on. Clik AF mode button. Dial allows you change size of focus area. Other buttons (WB, ISO...) allows you to reposition the focus box. This option seems to deny access to switching the AF mode (single, multi, tracking) using the AF mode button.

Option 2: With Directed AF Area off you can change the size via the dial by first cliking the AF mode button (left of the menu set), then clik the Fn button.

Under MF with the AF mode button gives you access to changing the size of the focus box for manual assist focusing.
