How long before Apple and Adobe update RAW for E-M10?

I am aware that Adobe CC can now handle RAW from the E-M10, but I am a Photoshop Elements person, and last time I checked it doesn't yet support the E-M10. I would be willing to use iPhoto, but it doesn't yet support the E-M10, either. I noticed a new RAW update come through for OSX, but E-M10 isn't on the list. I am not new to post processing, but as I develop my skills I am trying to take that "always shoot in RAW" advice to heart. I've been a JPG only shooter in the past with my old camera, mostly due to unfamiliarity with RAW, small CF cards, and a nearly full hard drive, none of which are problems anymore.

How long does it typically take for PSE or iPhoto RAW support to be added for new Oly cameras? Are there any other programs or workarounds I should consider? I have tried Oly Viewer but really don't like it and don't find it very intuitive. Perhaps I just need more experience with it. I was going to try a free trial of Lightroom but I think it also doesn't yet support the E-M10, is that right? In the meantime I'll stick with RAW + JPG and save the RAWs of the best shots and the ones that could potentially be good once I can use the RAW.

    Thanks for any advice!

    First a workaround:
You can download the 8.4 release candidate of the free Adobe Raw Converter and convert the raw files to dng files. I've never used photoshop elements, but I'm pretty sure that it can handle DNG files without a problem. The DNG converter is free
    http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/cameraraw8-4.html

Usually Adobe released the release candidate of the adobe camera raw, dng converter and Lightroom at the same time, but this time they didn't. My thoughts are that we might see the new major release of Lightroom v6 soon, but that's just a guess.

I can't say much about iPhoto because I've never used iPhoto or Aperture, but what I've heard is that Apple usually takes longer than Adobe with updating their supported cameras.

Thanks, Leif! I didn't know about that. I'll give that a try later and see how it works.

Apple just released a raw update 5.04. E-M5 was supported in Mavericks main release. E-M1 support was added in raw update 5.02. Looks like E-m10 support is not available. I have no problem with my E-M1 ORF files in Lightroom 5.

Yeah, I was optimistic when I saw that RAW update come through, but unfortunately no E-M10 support yet.

I, too, impatiently await release of RAW support for E-M10 in Aperture and Lightroom. Just started trying LR, but have used Aperture since version 1. I ended up having to turn to Olympus Viewer 3 because I had to get color JPGs out of RAW files I shot in RAW+JPG in Monotone. Someone here implied that since the RAW converter came out as a Release Candidate for ACR, as Leif mentioned, that we may expect updates to Aperture and LR by end of March. I hope so, because I'm with you, Wendy, Oly V3 is no fun to use!

I have the 30 day trial version of LightRoom 5.3 and it won't even open the E-M10 JPEG's. At least my old Photoshop Elements 6.0 will open the JPEG's.

I downloaded LightZone and it has no issue opening the RAW and JPEG's from the E-M10 and it's free. I don't know how it compares to LightRoom though.

In the Adobe Forum was a statement
Adobe haven't announced why they've delayed the 5.4 RC, but there is a good reason for the unusual behavior. All will become clear. Sorry it's frustrating for those awaiting new cameras though!

To me it sounds a lot like we'll see a Lightroom 6 Beta soon, but I might be wrong.

If there is a Lightroom 6 Beta... that will take several months to get a proper LR 6 version to work with.
So I hope it's not the reason.

I find very frustrating the lack of E-M10 support in lightroom, especially knowing that Photoshop's Adobe Camera Raw which shares exactly the same algorithms supports E-M10 for several weeks now.

I do not want to convert images to DNG as that limits the number of software that can post-process your files.
(for example, Olympus Viewer or DxO can't)
I use Lightroom for now, but I want to keep the ability to use another program in the future.
