    the effective FOV if I mount a 100mm lens on an OM-D and also switch on the tele-extender? Does that give me an effective field of view of 400mm? Sorry for the dumb question; I'm still learning the OM-D

    Yes. the FOV changes. A quick way to see is to focus on a object in regular mode, then turn digital zoom on. Your image quality will diminish using this feature. There is an infinite supply of inexpensive compact Tamron, Tonika and Sigma zoom lenses in the 28-to-200mm and 70-200 or 300mm.

    Look for compact ones in the 4" long range that has manual aperture.
