Would be interested to know how your lens setup kit has evolved through time.

    Here's mine:

    1. GF1 + 20mm (2010)

    2. GF1 + 20mm + 14mm (2011)

    3. GF1 + 20mm + 14mm + G3 (2011)

    4. GF1 + 20mm + 14mm + G3 + 7-14mm (2011)

    5. GF1 + 20mm + 14mm + G3 + 7-14mm + 45mm 1.8 (2011)

    6. G3 + 20mm + 7-14mm + 45mm 1.8 (- GF1 - 14mm) (2012)

Here's a small blog I just wrote for my Micro 4/3 Trinity.

So there you go, that's my current kit waiting to evolve again hahaha!

Mine didn't evolve so much as it materialized out of thin air. I'm coming into the m4/3 system with the E-M5, and having just sold my Canon 5D Mark II system, going on a bit of a lens buying spree was fun! I've picked up the same lens kit as you, but with a 25mm instead of a 20mm. I've also added a 12mm, but I intend on keeping either the 12mm or the 7-14mm, not both.

Great shot in your blog post! You have a knack for interesting product shots.

    Still Evolving

I want all the good primes. Need the two not in my list. When I sold my Nikon and lenses I got the best Oly at the time and a bunch of zooms just to play around. Will probably get the coming macro, maybe the 75mm just cause it looks like such a good lens although its not really a focal length I use much. I really want better prime teles too.

What evolved was my distaste for my big hulking overweight DSLR and when mirrorless got to the EP3 I jumped on it. Can't wait for the EM5.

All i have now is the GF1 with the 20/1.7

Want to add the 7-14 and a 45/1.8 and thats all i would really need.

As for a new body, depends on the G5 specs. If they are on par with the OMD minus the weather sealing which im sure they will be, I would be happy with that.

Part of me wants to wait and see the GH3 whenever it comes out. I don't do much video but it doesn't hurt to have it as long as the IQ is worth the price tag that will come with it.

    Purchased GF1+14-45 kit & 20mm
    Purchased Oly 14-150, disliked it
    Rented 100-300, hated it
    Rented 7-14mm, loved it
    Purchased 7-14mm
    Rented PL45, loved it
    Sold 14-150 (good riddance)
    Purchased PL45

Now I have the GF1+14-45 (that sits in a closet, waiting to be sold with the GF1), 20mm that gets almost no love, 7-14mm and PL45 which are my main glass.

    Future purchases:
Probably the E-M5 or a G5 if it has similar features
    Possibly the Rokinon 7.5 fisheye

Subtracted: GF1 (Only bought it because the kit was $100 cheaper than buying the 20 by itself, only owned the GF1 a week)
    Added: 45-200

Next: Probably an Oly 45, or the Panny wide and macro converters if they are any good.

Coming from a DSLR (D90) with some good prime lenses.
Purchased X100 (my everyday street camera)(D90 was dusting already)
    Sold the D90 and primes.
    Pre-ordered E-M5 + 12~50m kit last month.
    While waiting for the E-M5, bought a cheap used E-PL2 + 17mm f2.8 kit.
    Purchased 45mm f1.8.
    Traded the 17mm with 20mm.

    I'm now left with X100, E-PL2 + 20mm + 45mm.
    Waiting for the E-M5 + 12~50mm.

My evolution has been quick and forceful!

    e-pm1 + 14-42
    -20 disliked length, returned

future - better body (one day), maybe upgrade 14 to a wide zoom, add fast zoom in the 45+ range. also, the 14-42 can go as I've really never used it.

    1) E-P1 + 14-42mm + 17mm - Intro to m4/3, coming from P&S
    2) E-P1 + OM 28mm + OM 50mm - Wow, manual focus is fun!
    3) E-P2 w/ VF-2 + OM 28mm + OM 50mm - Wow, manual focus is easier with a vf!
    4) G3 + 20mm - Found a good deal on a 20mm. Going to try a Panny body.
    5) G3 + 25mm + 45-200mm - Viewing pics in the PL25 thread... first retail lens purchase.

This is going to be embarrassing...

    bought E-PL1 with 14-42 and 40-150
    sold 14-42 immediately
    added 17
    added Panasonic 14-45
    added VF2
added Panasonic 20 (best purchase I ever made)
    sold Olympus 17
    added G2 (body only)
    traded E-PL1 for E-P1
    sold Olympus 40-150
    bought Olympus 14-42
realized I HATED the Olympus 14-42 and sold it AGAIN
    sold VF2
    sold E-P1
    bought GF2
    bought LVF1
sold G2 and immediately regretted it
    added Panasonic 14
    traded 14 for Panasonic 45-200
    sold Panasonic 14-45
    sold Panasonic 45-200
bought E-PL2 with 14-42 (for work)
    added E-P1
    sold GF2 and LVF1
    got E-PM1 kit for gift
    sold 14-42
    added Panasonic 14
    bought G2 with Panasonic 14-42 and 14
    sold spare Panasonic 14
    traded E-PM1+Panasonic 14 for E-P3
added Olympus 45 (second best purchase I ever made)

    Current kit:

E-P1 (although it gets less use since the E-P3)
    E-P3 with Panasonic 20 and Olympus 45
    G2 (mostly for legacy glass)

Future pickup? Panasonic 14 (didn't mean to sell them both off, that was an accident) or Olympus 12 (when I win the lottery). I also should say that you could pick several spots in that list and insert...

    added LOTS of legacy glass
sold off LOTS of legacy glass

What did I learn? The only kit zoom I like is the Panasonic 14-45 but really wish the Olympus 14-54 was available for m43 and until it is I am not buying any more kit zooms. I like the Panasonic 14, don't use it that much but realize I probably SHOULD have a WA lens. The Olympus 12 looks great but I can't see spending the money for it. My favorite lens that I've had is the Panasonic 20 and the 45 is a close second (probably why I still have them). As much as I like zooms like the 40-150 and 45-200 I rarely use them and can't see buying one again. As far as camera bodies go...the main difference in all the bodies I've had was, build quality, features and speed. IQ wise they have been virtually identical. The ones I kept were the ones I like the feel of in my hand and that were convenient to use.

    Started Black Friday 2011, bought:

    GF3, 14, 14-42
    + Minolta 50 1.7
    + Hexanon 28 3.5
    + Hexanon 40 1.8
    + Vivitar 70-210
    + Industar 22
    + Helios 44-2
    + Mir 1B
    + G3 body
    + Canon FL 50 1.4
+ Canon FD 50 1.4 SSC (eagerly awaiting for it to arrive)

I am purely using legacy glass nowadays, except for the 14 for indoor shots of my nephews and nieces. I like the tactile feel of turning the focusing ring rather than letting the AF system do its job.

    Started with t2i to 7d 50 1.4 85 1.8
Then got an ep1 and 20mm last year last week , sold it right after sprint break, to slow,
    Wrote off m4/3 went to 5d2 24-70 2.8, 70-200 2.8.
All the info about em5 plus my six month visit to Thailand coming up soon made me want to switch back.
So last week ordered the em5 12mm 45mm and picked up a cheap gf2 .
The gf2 was awesome now the 5d is up for sale,

Now I got to decide if I want to sell lenses also and get Pl25mm, grip, and the 75mm, or have two kits,. The quality from the gf2 is amazing, I enjoy fashion/beauty work.
