Lately, these hot shoe bubbles have come to mind. After seeing a few admirable photographers with them in hand (only via the internet), they seem to be pretty cool. Do you use them? Are they helpful? Is there any particular style that's more beneficial than another?

A good quality bubble level was very useful when I was shooting bodies (G1s) that did not have an internal level indicator and using my 9-18mm or 12mm. The Jobu Design unit with two bullseye bubbles ( was the best I found. Oddly, their marketing photos do not make it clear that in addition to the bubble on the top there is also a bubble on the side for vertical format shots.

I don't use mine any more because my GX7s have internal level indicators. PM me with an offer if you'd like the one I have.
