I am expecting my P12-35 to arrive any day and I see that it comes with a hood, but I can't find out WHAT hood! I was suspecting that it wold be the same hood that comes with the P14-140, but I have no way of knowing that.

The hood on the P14-140 is the H-VS014140 (obviously the 14-140 designation). So not knowing otherwise I suspect that the P12-35 hood is going to be called the H-VS01235 (good guess, eh?). Can any owner of the 12-35 tell me the part number of the hood that is on their lens?

    Thanks,

The only part number on my 12-35 hood is the same as the lens itself: H-HS12035

Its a nice hood and its also reversible. GREAT lens, only had it for 12 hours and am already seeing some great results indoor. The constant 2.8 aperture is just amazing.

Love the lens. Hood is fine. Pretty sure it's not the same hood though as your 14-140 -- that would be entirely too logical and cost-saving to be indulged in by the big boys, lol.

Hmmm... I sure don't know what that means!

Otherwise, thanks for the responses guys. I'll be patient (if I can).

The 14-140 has a 62mm filter size and the 12-35 is 58mm so I think the hoods will be different.

I was trying to imagine why you need the part number.

I was just wondering if it was identical to the 14-140 hood. But I have already received the lens (Yippee) and I know the answer.
    Thanks for posting,

Make sure you let us know how the lens works out for you! The 14-140 is not a bad lens, but the 12-35/2.8 is really terrific. At least that's been my experience.
