My grandfather makes up board games that are played with cards. He also makes the boards by hand and gives them to the family. They are quite fun, the kids especially love them as most of them are geared toward them.

This is my Grandfather. He was once a skilled carpenter. I spent many of my summers as a young man working and learning beside him.The last ten years have been rough on him but he has his games to keep his mind busy.

Thank your for your great post.

I have always had a great respect for elderly people who are still actively pursuing whatever is interesting to them.

Unfortunately, in my native country and in the country where I live it's very common for old people to be very idle; usually all their time is devoted to watching TV.

Your welcome and thanks for looking.

It is unfortunate and common here in the US as well. The elderly have a lot of experience to share, all they need is a kind ear to listen to them.

Nice avatar BTW.
