Cool varied landscape; but best of all the compositions are wonderful. Good job.

Fort Rock is one of my favorite places to visit when I'm in Oregon.

It's a fantastic place, but when we were there it was close to 100 degrees Fahrenheit :) if we ever go back it'll hopefully be cooler

100F? YIKES. Heh, I think I've only ever visited in the fall or winter when it's about 40F. One of the amazing things I saw there was when a friend and I hiked to the middle of the "amphitheater," and a hawk was flying by about 500' away, but the sound amplified it, and we could hear the feathers rustling from the flapping of it's wings- it sounded like it was right next to us.

40F sounds more like it :D (or maybe somewhere in between :) )
we've seen some hawks too... Guess in case we go back someday we need to listen more closely.

Spent two weeks in the Oregon Cascades last September. LOVED it!! My only issue was dealing with the lightning-ignited forest fire in and around Bend and Sisters.

    Love your images!!

yes we've seen lots of areas with trees after a forest fire. Walked through a burned part of a forest for a short stretch and it was a bit unsettling...

Fortunarley didn't encounter any lightning storms when we were there. Don't want to be caught up in one of those when you're up there...

slowly working my way through all the images I took :) (curse and blessing of digital)

The challenge with hiking and photography is that you have to accept the light as it is... No waiting for perfect light, which sometimes means a bit more post-processing.

The second one was converted to BW (in SiverEfex) to rescue the pic because of the blown-out sky...
