Have posted a lot of these on SC over the last few months, but with High School Marching Band season wrapping up, decided to post highlights of the last few months covering my son's band as one of the parent volunteer photographers. The competitions are really fun events to cover, the kids are very talented, and it brings back memories of shooting for the school paper in high school and college.

I always used the E-M5 with the Oly 75-300 Mk II, and the E-PL3 with either the 14-42 Mk II or the E-Zuiko 4/3 9-18mm with a Panasonic m 4/3 adapter. Photos below are all with the E-M5 and 75-300mm. The low-light ability of the E-M5 sensor, plus its 5-axis IBIS, make it a great camera for covering these events, especially with the relatively small max aperture, long focal length 75-300.

The Centerville Jazz Band did a great show in Lucas Oil Stadium. Here's a sample with our son on the left really getting into his riff.
