Hi Everyone, new here, eagerly awaiting the UPS delivery of an E-PL1.

I'm defecting from the standard-sized DSLR world. I found that I wasn't bringing my Canon 20D anywhere anymore because it (and its entourage of gear) was too bulky and attracted too much attention.

Looking forward to a lighter camera load and HD video!

Nope, Scantron like the "futuristic" multiple choice test cards that schools started using in the 80's.

scranton, glad to have you here and promise to let us know how you like that E-PL1! As for the origin of your name, I'm not familiar with those multiple choice test cards from the 80s, thankfully.

Welcome here Scantron. Many of us here made the same choice you did; not to say DSLRs can't have a technical edge on 4:3 in some precise situations, but truth has always been, the right camera is the one you have with you when that picture has to be made.

Yes indeed. I grew to hate using my DSLR unless I was out alone specifically to shoot photos in nature.

I found the people don't dig having one of those things aimed at them, and I didn't dig aiming one at them either. Plus it all weighed a ton.

I will post my thoughts on the E-PL1 after I get to know it better. So far I love it, total honeymoon phase!

    A few good things:

    -Simple to use
    -Very portable
    -The JPEGs look great
    -Art filters are actually fun
-Aim that flash at the ceiling!
    -Feels totally sturdy

Welcome! Same reasons as you, it can be wherever I go.
Except it's been raining nearly every day since I bought it.
