Hi all. Thanks for adding me.

I'm here to learn more about the format, coming from a DSLR background. My interest is in birds and landscapes and I'm sick of carrying around a heavy kit that does fairly poorly in CAF.

The new EM1 II is on the short list for the change.

    Cheers.

    er small.

Most livable city and all that. You will find a lot of Olympus users here - I've been on walks where over half the togs have been carrying Oly.

Yep AA, Melbourne is very liveable, if your house is in the right ballpark location.
Sniksekk, I had a Norwegian XC ski teacher. Perhaps surprisingly Australia has a lot of skiable terrain (with heavy wet snow usually).

Ziggy, if you want an opportunity to test a few bodies and lenses away from Elizabeth Street, come along sometime - better to test using someone else's equipment than to buy first and then find that you don't bond.

    Ooh, thanks.
The 100-400 is the obvious choice for birds but not exactly a snip in price or size. 100-300 good enough? Way cheaper. Then something around 9mm for landscapes, and a zoom in between as a walk-around lens.
Talk when the EM1 II is out?

    Hi
    And welcome from the Goldie

Funny that xc skiing comes up. Although I'm a Queenslander I've also lived a fair bit in Eastern Finland, where the snow is powdery. I love the powdery stuff .

About to head back to Joensuu for a few years.

Yes, powder or even just soft dry stuff is a delight. Here, if we get up on the mountain as soon as possible after a fall, or out of the tent, we might get lucky.
