Hi, I have recently acquire a Sigma 24-70 f2.8 Macro (OM mount)

I seems to struggle to get decent quality photos - the lens seems fine, it must be the way I am shooting - any tips from anyone to get better result on this?

F2.8 1/30sec ISO-1600 shoot in Aperture Priority / manual focus / Macro set on 0.5-0.6

An old zoom lens wide open + iso1600 from a small old sensor + hand-holding a very ergonomically unfriendly camera at such a slow shutter speed = the mess you've got. :)  Fix as many of those 3 problems as possible and you'll get better shots.

Thank you dannat & troll, I was hand holding it & come to think about it - I was shooting in an indoor -semi low-light condition. This is my first attempt using an old manual lens - i shall try it outdoor in full day light! Thanks for your advice again! :D

Agree with the two posts above - are you using IS? If so you'll need to set the correct focal length.
