    Hello!

I have a (stupid?) question about saving from NIK:s software.

I take a .jpeg with 6MB size into Color Exef Pro, apply a filter and save.
The picture then is about 1.6MB???
I can´t find any settings for saving? Only the "save-button"
    What have I missed?

How about with a RAW file ? Any difference in behaviour ?

JPEG is a lossy format - every time you edit the file its re-compressed. Depending on the edits you can lose a lot of information deemed unnecessary.

Also Nik might have an 'Export' menu item - you may be able to select other formats and settings in lieu of a straight 'Save'.

    Good luck !

    Thanks for the answer phigmov.
I have not tried with a RAW file yet.
Yes I know that jpeg is a lossy format but I thought it went down in size very much.

I have not yet found some setting in the software that allows me to choose how big the output will be.

I will try out the RAW file and se what happens.

I tried the same thing once more today.
I open a 6MB file in Color Exef4, put a filter on it and saved.
LR3 red the file to 1,18MB.

Then I opened it in PS4 and checked the filesize and it was 35MB!
So, it seems that Lightroom has some problem to read the correct filesize after Color Exef4...
