Help out a birder with a Pelican (not the Pelican case)

[Neon Birding]

Question for the Birders: I saw this huge pelican this past September, at the Henderson Bird Viewing Preserve. A solitary bird that has the colors of a Great White Pelican, and seen in North America. Or are the American White Pelican and Great White Pelican the same bird with different names? Any info, posted content, or reference would be helpfull.

It is an American White Pelican. Great White Pelican is a bird of Africa and Asia.
