Hello all. I've just purchased (the package from B&H will arrive Monday) the OM-D E-M5 and 4 lenses. I'm downsizing from my Pentax APSC DSLR system. I'd been looking for a smaller system and so was watching the mu-43 market. I just noticed the EM5 had weather resistant bodies and mu43 has some WR lenses so I am making the switch. The WR aspect is what I like about my Pentax system so I don't feel I'm giving up anything.
I look forward to your sage advice as I get used to the new system ;-)

Congratulations. It's a wonderful camera. I don't know what lenses you got, but theirs not really a bad on in the bunch; the system has some very nice glass. The camera is very customizable, which can be complex, but once you've got it set up to your way of shooting it's just a joy to use. At least that has been my experience. Fast, versatile, light but sturdy, excellent IQ, a whole slew of terrific lenses. There's a lot to like.

    Good luck and have fun.

Welcome! I recently sold my Pentax kit and went exclusively MFT. WR for the OM-D was one of the things I liked, though I don't shoot in the rain that often.

I really enjoyed my Pentax kit for 7 years, but since getting my OM-D and adding some of the nice primes, I found I wasn't using my Pentax much, so I sold it. The only things missing are the long/fast lenses, but I suspect they will come eventually. In the meantime, I'll enjoy the smaller size of my kit and wonderful image quality from the OM-D.

    So Far, so good!

I'm settling into my EM5 nicely. Have spent the past few days customizing it and playing with new lenses. Have started with fast lenses: 2 primes and 2 zooms (see signature). All are great performers in my first use tests. I'll probably round out my initial collection with the Oly 60mm f/2.8 macro. The size, functionality, and quality of images work very well for me.
I'm really burning through the battery, but I am spending a lot of time using the monitor playing with settings, so that isn't troubling me at this point.
All in all, I'm a happy camper.

    Well done & welcome

Great move and I am sure you will not regret it.

I just let my D700 kit go and got the OMD and lenses and it is stunning as well as half the size/weight!

OP, Pick up an Oly 45mm. It's one of the best lenses of the lineup if you like the focal length, otherwise a great setup.

Welcome and good choice! I have and E-M5 and a G5 as well and love them. I came from a Nikon DSLR background and I do urbex and carting 25 pounds of kit around in my backpack got old. My gear weighs more like 10 pounds now and I can use a lighter tripod.

My sage advice is: Have fun, take lots of pictures. Repeat as needed.
