My full name is Victor Bloomfield. I'm a professor of biochemistry at the University of Minnesota and an enthusiastic photographer. Much of my work has been done with Panasonic P&S, especially the ZS3 and LX3, and some with a Pentax K-7. However, I recently succumbed to the lure of a Panasonic GF-1, with 20 mm and 14-140 lenses (and viewfinder) and I'm finding this system a good melding of the P&S and DSLR worlds. I have a daily photo blog, Here and There, at http://blog.lib.umn.edu/victor/hereandthere/ where I'm currently posting photos taken at Steven Johnson's Death Valley workshop. Before that were photos of a trip to Cuba, and many other travels before that. I've done about 40 photo books on Blurb http://www.blurb.com/bookstore/search?search=victorb&commit=Search mostly of my travels. My Flickr account is at http://www.flickr.com/photos/[email protected]/. I've recently posted some photos of the University of Minnesota, one of which appears in the April 2, 2010 issue of the Chronicle of Higher Education. I'm looking forward to learning more about the m4/3 system here, and seeing the good work that other members are doing.
