    Hello there,

i took advantage of a very good price £250 and additional £50 cashback for a GF3 with 14mm lens.

    My name is Joel.

I wanted something light after being fed up of taking (or not taking as the case was) my gripped dslr.

i sold off my 50mm lens and flash and decided to get the GF3.

loving it so far and im half tempted to sell off the rest of my gear and buy a new lens (45mm or 20mm) dont know if i can bring myself to do it though.

considering picking up a GF1 or GF2 as a 2nd body a some point as i love the styling and they produce some fantastic images (im sure the GF3 can produce the same) and they are so cheap 2nd hand.

anyways enough rambling and i will see you round the boards

    Welcome Joel.
I have the GF1, but currently pondering to upgrade to OM5. I think you'll be better off with the GX1 or G3.

GX1 would be lovely but it's too expensive. Not really interested in the G3 as its still not compact enough.

    Welcome Joel,

I upgraded my 2yr old GF1 in Jan and got the GX1 still a tad expensive but a worthy upgrade if you can wait.

They are great cameras that will give good results if used with thought - also a lot smaller and lighter than DSLR kit!

    Welcome

I also quite new to m43, and have the GX1. Its a nice camera, but I think you should consider some of the other great primes, before getting a second body.

Yeh this is probably the route I'd take. Hoping I can pick up the 45mm without selling my dslr but can't see that happening.

Although in worried the 45 would be too long a focal length and maybe I'd be better off getting the 20mm but then that seems so close to the 14 I already have.

I have the 20 mm and the 14-42 mm. Although the 20 mm is great, I also use the 14-42 a lot. You could consider to get at used 14-45,which should be even better than the 14-42, and then decide what you needs are. I have seen it for about 100 £ and you can sell it again without a loss (other than P&P).

That's good to know. I do like my primes though. Used nothing but primes on my dslr.

The 14-42x looks good as its small.

    Welcome here.
I've got the same kit months ago, I'd some time later upgrade to gx1 but will always keep my gf3 as it amazes me!

If IQ is your main concern, you should chose the 14-45. I decided against the 14-42X, when I purchased my GX1 kit. This was because the issues with blurred pictures in some situations and because it did not offer better IQ than the “normal” 14-42. BTW the 14-45 is a little bit smaller than the 14-42.
