Hello all, the name is Bob... Picked up a Pany GH2 with the kit 14-45 a couple months ago and trying to learn this whole still picture thing. Not totally new to stills, had an AE-1 back in the late 70s, early 80s...and of course I've had numerous pocket digital cameras. But video has been my hobby... Started playing with 8mm video years ago, got serious about 8-9 years ago with a Canon GL2. Finally a Panasonic HMC-150 which I used for a couple of years... However, most of my vacations and trips are by motorcycle and I just can't pack a large Prosumer video cam... So this summer I sold my HMC-150 and picked up a GH2, based on recommendations at my video forums... Added several old Canon FD lenses and now I can pack a quality video camera on the bikes. But as I have discovered over the past couple of months, this thing takes pretty darn nice stills... Picked up a Lumix 20mm f/1.7 and the 45-200mm panny lens, and I find I am using it more for still work, than video... So I hope, using the resources here, and other places, to learn the art of taking digital stills... And that, ending a longish story, is why I am here.
