Been lurking here for some time.

Canon is the the dominant DSLR/serious camera brand in Iceland by far, My feeling is that not to many people seem to know about mirrorless or M43 over here.

My relationship with M43 started when I gave my daughter oly E-pl1 last year (see showed some interest in photography but had no gear), I had to learn something about the system so I could teach her somethings:smile:

This fall I got myself used panasonic G1 (without lens) and canon FD 50mm f/1.4 because I wanted to try M43 with legacy glass.

This lens was wonderful and razor sharp but I wanted auto focus and ended up getting panasonic GF3 (it was good price new with the powerzoom 14-42 pancake).

I got the oly 45 f1.8 and samyang 7.5mm fisheye soon after

I thought I could live with interchangeable camera without hotshoe but I was kidding myself.

After repeating the manta: "I can use this camera outside in natural light, no need for flash" --"I can use this camera outside in natural light, no need for flash"

I just had to get rid of it, I could not occupy the same space as interchangeable camera without hotshoe

I finally gave up and sent the Gf3 with the canon FD 50mm to my son as a gift (He has no interest in photography and has no gear, but I will try:smile:)

I got the Yongnuo YN-560 II Speedlight Flash (all manual but it works great) and am just enjoying the G1!

    The new gear:

Looking forward to getting more into M43 (Oly Epl5??), I love the small size of the gear!

I still like my canon stuff, the 10-22 is a great lens and takes 77mm filters.

I think 9-18 is not wide enough (I shoot the 10-22 @10mm 90% of the time) and 7-14 has problems with filters.

I have not made up my mind about short DOF and M43 yet, I have the oly 45 f/1.8 to work with and no hurry.
